We carefully create artistic and functional handmade items on our wood turning lathe. They make beautiful unique items to buy as gifts or home use. Exotic and gorgeous woods include: Bocote, Bolivian Rosewood, Canary Wood, Cocobolo, Olive Wood and Padauk. Cocobolo Bottle Opener – $35.00

Cocobolo is grown on the Pacific Coast of Mexico down through Central America. A true rosewood, its colors range from any combination of orange, red, yellow, & black to violet.

African Blackwood Pen – $30.00

African Blackwood – From the dry savanna regions of central and southern Africa, African Blackwood is black with violet streaks. Its grain is typically straight; fine, even texture and good natural luster.

Cocobolo is grown on the Pacific Coast of Mexico down through Central America. A true rosewood, its colors range from any combination of orange, red, yellow, & black to violet.

Padauk Pen – $25.00

With colors ranging from a pale pinkish orange to a deep brownish red, Padauk is found in the central and tropical areas of west Africa. Its grain is usually straight, but can sometimes be interlocked.

 


Bocote Wine Stopper – $30.00

Bocote is a South American Hardwood found in Southern Mexico. It is specifically known for its distinctive black lines and beautiful finish.

 


Bolivian Rosewood Wine Stopper – $25.00

Although not a true Rosewood it shares many characteristics of Rosewoods such as color and working properties.

 


Cocobolo Wine Stopper – $35.00

Honduran Rosewood Wine Stopper – $30.00

Honduran Rosewood is a dense and naturally oily wood that produces a glass-like natural polish. Colors can range from a deep brownish-purple to a light-brown.

Marble Wood Wine Stopper – $30.00

Marblewood – Native to Northeastern South America, Marblewood yellow to golden brown, with irregular brown, purple, or black streaks. The grain tends to be straight or slightly interlocked; texture is medium with open pores.

 


Mora Wine Stopper – $25.00

Mora is a very heavy and hard wood with outstanding strength properties. Native to Northeastern South America (primarily Guyana and Suriname), it is light to medium reddish brown with a grain is straight to commonly interlocked, producing an attractive wavy or sometimes ribbon figure.

 


Olivewood Wine Stopper – $30.00

Olivewood can be a cream or yellowish brown, with darker brown or black contrasting streaks. Grown in Europe and eastern Africa, it is sometimes figured with curly or wavy grain, burl, or wild grain.

 


Pau Rosewood Wine Stopper – $30.00

Pau Rosa is found in the African Congo to Eastern Africa (small clusters within African rainforests). Colors include reds, oranges, yellows, violet purples, and black.

 


Zebra Wood Wine Stopper – $30.00

Found in equatorial western Africa, Zebrawood is a light brown or cream color with dark blackish brown streaks vaguely resembling a zebra’s stripes.

 


Zircote Wine Stopper – $35.00

Ziricote is only found in a small portion of Central America on the Caribbean coast. Color ranges from medium to dark brown, sometimes with either a green or purple hue, with darker bands of black growth rings intermixed.
